Tallow

INCI: Bos Taurus derived fats, e.g. Tallow

Tallow is a rendered animal fat. In cosmetics it is used as a rich, occlusive base that sits on the surface of the skin, most often in balms and heavier creams.

Because it is animal-derived, a product containing tallow is not vegan. That applies to the Ayugenics balm.

What this does not tell you

General ingredient information. A balm containing tallow is not vegan, and the presence of Aqua in a list means it is not waterless.
